Needs a "Code Review"

I'm just getting into the meat of this book and already I'm finding many errors in the code listings and references to code that doesn't appear in the example(s). There are also mismatches and duplications in other code listings...
For instance:
Page 63, line item #9
"Then, we will add an HTML5 data attribute to ..." and there is no "data" attribute in the listing.
Page 64-65:
Duplications and mismatches.
To the Author >>> If you're going to copy and paste code to use in your listing, have someone review your code.
HTML is pretty simple stuff, so it's not hard to figure out how to correct it, but then again, the reader shouldn't have to do that...

Great book but not for beginners, disappointed

Just finished what looked like a promising book that ended up being really disappointing. The best I can say is that it gives you insight into how to use responsive frameworks to build sites and make CSS coding easier with less and sass. On the down side, this book is already almost obsolete since both Bootstrap and Foundation are in new versions that change and/or remove many features (Bootstrap especially!) described in the book. That's OK if you don't mind poring over the online documentation for these frameworks and have more than a little experience with HTML and CSS so you can adapt the examples to the new versions, but people closer to the beginner state of web design may be tempted to put this book down. Considering this is supposed to be a beginner's guide, it's not encouraging. Additionally, the example code and the code described in the book is hard to follow and have more than a few discrepancies which can be very confusing and frustrating, and the publisher does almost nothing to address this through editing or errata. In fact I would say the book is rather self-defeating of its mission in that the examples almost require you to be above the beginner level to make use of them.
Bottom line: this book is great for introducing responsive frameworks but is not good for learning them if you want to simply follow examples. You WILL have to put a lot of extra work into this, which in my opinion does help you learn better but means that people less familiar with modern web design will be at a disadvantage. I would love to see a next edition of this book with tighter editing and the code cleaned up, that would easily earn this 5 stars.

Responsive Web Design by Example - A must have

Responsive Web Design by Example is an excellent piece of work which helps the reader to understand the fundamentals of how to go about creating responsive websites with minimal hassles.
This book is intended for beginners who are familiar with HTML and CSS and want to understand the concept of Responsive Web Design and are intending to design one. It gives a quick peek into various technologies which would have not known to them (at least i found quite a few). There is very good balance of theory as well as code which makes it more interesting to read. One good thing i liked is the pointers to additional information which makes this book a must have.
It introduces three frameworks Skeleton,BootStrap and Foundation and highlights the features associated with each of them. Frameworks are good to use but they come with a overhead called learning curve, this books helped me in reducing the learning curve by making me understand the exact things which i needed to know to use these frameworks.
Gone are those days where variants of a website (Desktop, Tablet and Mobile) were maintained, Its time for Responsive Web Sites. To keep in pace with the technology shift this book is a good starter.
Now i can confidently say i understand the concept of Responsive Web Design and if you ask me i can design one for you.
