Wide breadth, little depth, occasional errors.

These are the one pagers from Classic Boat magazine (UK). The book is organized by type of vessel (dinghy, Olympic, racing, etc.). It gives a one page biography or synopsis of the class, normally with a line drawing and at least one picture of a vessel in current use.
The book does not mean to be in depth, and it does cover a surprising amount of vessels both European and American. Chances are good you'll see a "Volume II" in the future.
It's hard to get the facts correct on all of these, but if you are very familiar with one or two classes and find an error it will annoy you. Well within tolerance though. Pleasant, a bit small for a coffee table book.

I was contacted by the author because she needed some help with one of the boats in the book. I happen to own one so was glad to assist. She did a great job and the book is fun to read and see all the other One Designs. The book was also much less expensive than I expected.

Nice overview of 140 Classic Sailing Classes

Ever wonder about this or that class of sailboat? This book gives the basics on 140 classes of sailboats including all 44 Olympic classes with specifications, a iine drawing, a photo, and a brief one page history of each class. There is also a handy guide to the sail insignias of 100 classes. Any sailor or sailing enthusiast will enjoy this book.
