Enlightening But In Need of Better Editing

Picked up some interesting factoids like his middle initial standing for nothing, him being a prolific reader and raising to the rank of Colonel in the Army. Sort of sad to think he left the Presidency essentially bankrupt on a monthly army pension of barely $100. Biggest gripe I had was poor editing including passages like:
1) Harry and many others said that would have died if the war had continued. (insert 'many more' between that and would) location 207
2) He also wanted to improve public welfare benefits, unemployment help social security. (Any suggestions?) location 227
3) Harry got passed this by signing a statement saying it was a national emergency ('past' not passed) location 254
Informative, yes, but lacking as to editing which distracted some from the book.

Truman, a man of his time

I chose this rating because if the complete story of Truman from childhood to older adult. The information regarding his rise to the presidency are critical to understanding the man. He is one of my favorite presidents and to hear he left the presidency poor was an interesting concept. Things we take for granted today such as a presidential retirement plan get answered by reading of Truman, his decisions and how he was a man of his time.

Not Interactive for Kindle Fire

I enjoyed the book, it was well written and informative. However, one of the reasons for my purchase of
the book was the advertising that said it was "interactive." There were no videos or sound bites.
It was very disappointing in that way.
The book itself was very good.
